Always Only For My King

Take my voice and let me sing always, only for my King. Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from Thee. Take my silver and my gold not a mite would I withhold. Take my intellect and use every power as You choose. Here am I, all of me. Take my life, it's all for Thee.

thankful thursday for thanksgiving

what i'm thankful for this year:

  • a healthy and good pregnancy.
  • a healthy and beautiful baby boy who's very easy to take care of.
  • my family and friends who have helped us immensely when the baby was born.
  • for my husband who has been so supportive, loving, and encouraging throughout the year!
  • for the blood of Christ that has saved me.
  • for my pastor and the sermons given this year in romans--it's been a great to be reminded of the assurance i have in my salvation.
  • for my church family who has made champaign my home away from home.

panic situations

many people will tell you that i'm not one you can depend on in panic situations. i'm like a deer in headlights--i just freeze up or run away.

well, i'm proud to say that i think i've taken one step closer to being more "dependable" in these situations based on my reaction at the gas station last week. ;) i was filling up gas using the automatic-fill lever on the pump. i heard the lever click to indicate that my tank was full. i looked over only to discover that the lever didn't pop out like it normally does, so gas was pouring out of my tank. i pulled the pump out of the tank and managed to pop the lever. it probably would have been smarter to try to un-pop the lever while the pump was in the tank so i didn't spill gasoline on the floor, but hey, i didn't freeze up and that's the most important thing! :)

out at the cape

i'm blogging from the cape! as we speak, tropical storm noel is heading our way. it's nice and rainy and windy outside. :( we're here to go to nat's cousin's wedding. i'm hoping that everything still goes pretty smoothly despite the storm (we have a flood warning on the cape, and it's expected that we'll have 70 mph wind gusts!). the wedding also serves as a mini-reunion for nat's family! it's great!

on a different note, nat pointed out as we were traveling from detroit to providence that i was the only asian person on the plane. conversely, there were at least 10 asians on the flight from champaign to detroit. i noticed last night, that i was also the only asian at both restaurants we went to. not only that, but i noticed all the other guests were caucasian. it got to us thinking, why are there not as many different ethnicities represented in new england? thoughts?
