Always Only For My King

Take my voice and let me sing always, only for my King. Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from Thee. Take my silver and my gold not a mite would I withhold. Take my intellect and use every power as You choose. Here am I, all of me. Take my life, it's all for Thee.

football fan

i've always been an american football fan, but at some point between dating nat and now, i've become a football fan. it's a little mind boggling to me b/c i used to think that football was so boring. so boring, in fact, that i would fall asleep while watching an "exciting and high scoring" game with nat. now, i appreciate the game much more, and i can sound semi-intelligent talking about a game. in fact, i even get excited when i watch a game. for example, here are some things that i found myself saying yesterday watching the usa vs mexico gold cup final game:
  • "why isn't keller starting?"
  • "come on, that wasn't a foul, he dove!"
  • "beasley! i can't believe he didn't make that shot!"

1 day notice

i ended my "food engineer" job at a local coffee shop last week. i told my boss/friend on thursday that friday was my last day. :) being the chill and awesome person that she was (and of course it helped that she just had her baby in february), she said it was fine. :) it wasn't so much the waking up early and being tired that made me quit, but rather the tummy aches i was getting in the middle of work. fortunately, the tummy aches have subsided since i stopped working.

i will miss interacting with the regulars and also my co-workers (can we say extrovery?). i told my friend that i might just stop by some mornings to say hello and maybe help out for free. :)

showered with love

our family was showered with love tonight as our church threw me a baby shower. i had such a great time and felt SO EXTREMELY loved and blessed. i praise God for this family He has given us in this church. it truly feels like a close-knit family, and we feel so loved and supported by our family members. :) it definitely has made us more calm and at peace about raising our child here in champaign for a couple of years, even though we're far from our own families. thanks church family! :)

yay for husband! ;)

i'm thankful that nat has been SO supportive throughout this pregnancy. this week, i've felt so loved and touched by his support. he attended breastfeeding class with me this week, even though he was very tired (he had a total of 3 baby-related classes this week) of classes. he also took time out of his busy schedule to go to the car seat appointment to make sure we installed our car sear correctly.

finally, nat got an extended abstract into the best conference in his area this week! :) yay, husband! :)

gi-normous garage sale

our church is having a HUGE, GI-NORMOUS garage sale tomorrow (saturday). if you're in the champaign area, i highly recommend checking it out! there is some great stuff (even new and unused things) out there. the address is 905 s. lynn st. in champaign.

yesterday, we dropped off a lot of things that we've been wanted to give away/sell since we've been married. i had forgotten what i had put in the pile, and it was funny to see what things i put in the pile that we couldn't sell--a used 2005 schedule book, an old course packet, our wedding registry package from bed bath and beyond (the cards that you put in the invitations telling people where you're registered). :)

no. try not. do... or do not. there is no try.

God has been showing me this week to pray for people in the moment amidst their circumstance or when i think of them. it's been really good for me, especially the past two days, and i feel totally refreshed. i think i like being a do-er rather than a try-er. :)
